Having played our fair share of adventure, puzzle, RPG and other games, we have made a list of game features we do NOT want our game to have.
Here is the list:
There will be no puzzles where tapping or clicking every pixel on the screen ad nauseam is the only way to get unstuck. Pixel hunting isn’t fun.
Tedious Dialogue Puzzles
We will not have dialogue trees with dozens of lines that don’t lead anywhere, let alone contribute to the game experience.
A Humongous Inventory
Trying out a million combinations of items in your inventory (only to find that 9 out of 10 of them are useless junk) sounds more like a chore than fun.
Cutscenes can be nice and we will have some as well. But we will still try to convey as much of the story through gameplay. It’s a game, not a movie.
Imagine having to check a display on the roof of a building every time you flip a switch in the basement. Elroy will not have puzzles that make you do the legwork for no obvious reason.
